Ilya Vidrin
As a Somatic Enrichment Trainer, Ilya facilitates private sessions for clients with and without movement experience, as well as group instruction within institutional settings, professional and corporate organizations, and studio spaces designed for movement.
Somatic Enrichment, specifically designed during Ilya's graduate study at Harvard, emerges from a growing body of research in affective neuroscience, mindfulness, and social-emotional learning. Somatic approaches to movement allow for better awareness and control by developing focus on experiencing the body from the inside.
Somatic Enrichment improves physical wellness, attention, and psychological engagement through a practice of intentional action. It can be complementary practice for working professionals who seek to develop better balance, flexibility, coordination, and strength, or as a preventative practice, to recognize and regulate thought patterns through movement. The practice ranges from simple, seated exercises, to dynamic movements designed to build trust, vulnerability, and respect.
