In the fall of 2016 / spring of 2017, I was a guest artist-in-residence at the Interlochen Arts Academy, a performing arts high school in Michigan.
During my residency, I had a chance to work with students in the departments of music, comparative arts, dance, and continuing studies. I accompanied students in the Comparative Arts department on a three-day hike of North Country Trail, where we investigated site-responsive partnering with trees and plants (top right).
The residency culminated in a duet for two students in the dance department for their winter showcase (bottom right square), as well as two multidisciplinary works for students in the Comparative Arts department, "North" (fall showcase) and "A/P" #1 (spring showcase).
